What to look forward to

The full retreat plan is still in the works. Here’s a sampling of activities we plan to include. If you have a workshop, activity, or talent you’d be willing to share, please let us know.

Contra Dancing

Clarissa and Erik met through contra and their love grew out of the connection to their beloved contra community. Dancing serves as a meeting of the souls and is fueled by the joy of creating music. We hope to share dances with you all.

Ultimate Frisbee

Ultimate is Erik’s favorite sport. In honor of the many games that gave Clarissa and Erik’s relationship a place to grow, we will be inviting our guests to join us in a friendly pickup game.

The field is reasonably flat, though cleats are advised. Bring a dark and white shirt for gameplay.

Nature

Clarissa and Erik both have a deep love of the earth and being connected through nature. That’s why they are both thrilled to invite you to experience the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Camp Cedar Ridge sits on 35 acres in the Nehalem River area. There’s plenty to do here to connect in and with nature.

Singing

Clarissa is a former show choir geek and Glee fan. Erik is an unapologetic theatre nerd who has been in the Google choir and performed in community theatre productions. Music and singing are deeply important to the bride and groom. Keller even holds several stage credits to her name and a summer camp talent award for singing.

We hope you’ll make like actual robins and larks and sing your hearts out. This is a summer camp-themed wedding retreat. Did someone say campfire songs?

Learning

Clarissa is a teacher at heart and Erik is ever the engineer, both constantly curious and open-minded.

From hikes to interpretative stations or workshops, lessons, and meditative spaces, there will be many chances to try something new.

We hope that in addition to the many chances for play and laughter, you’ll also find time for reverence, appreciation, and wonder in learning something new.

Fun

Above all, we want everyone to have fun. We’ll try to include a few options at times so folks have choices for how they’d like to celebrate with us. Please participate at your own comfort level. We aim to provide activities for the active and the chill, the loud and the quiet, the playful and the mindful. If you have an idea for an activity, icebreaker, game, craft, or anything else you’d love to see, please let us know.
